Day 1 Platinum on the first look looks amazing, fabulous. Just like Far East. You guys know how crazy I am over some particular shops at Far East. It's not exactly like room but well there are definitely some cool looking stores available. We glanced through the place, while heading off to the food court. We had some Korean food that in my opinion tasted ok and had this weird fruit punch flavour ice blended, which is too too sweet.
Woke up at 430am to get ready. Ma's dad came to fetch me at around 530am. The wind is blowing like hurricane and my house lift was spoilt. I have to carry the 5-7kg heavy luggage down 4 storey.
We set off to the Budget Terminal. It's small, shabby & looks pathetic. There are only a couple of shops (I'm not even sure if it duty-free).
We hung around the airport looking shag & tired. I also try out the new system of using thumbprint to enter/ exit from the gate, which is pretty cool.
The stewardesses were really amazing. The standard contrast with SIA is HUGE. The uniform basically consist of this ugly velvet grey like colour pant, a dark benign colour shirt and a tiger strip print cloth, which you can either tied it around the neck as scarf or tied it around your waist like belt. It's horrible.
Beside the outfit, the ongoing to BKK stewardesses don't sound like local. They speak broken English and there is even one w/o make up at all. Well, I thought these days we all know ladies with make up are a polite gesture of courteous, respect….
Apparently this rule doesn't apply to all.
The ride to BKK is smooth. The BKK airport looks alright. They have high technology devices like eye detector. According to Ma the airport is new. Anyway we waited for the airport transfer driver for quite a long time AND even had to resort to announce the travelling agency name at the information counter.
We reached Baiyoke Sky at around 10am (due to the time different). The bellboy is cute. The hotel is nice. The check in process is pretty fast & the staffs english is not too bad. We had Mac breakfast due to our hungriness. It's the first food store we came across.
After slacking for awhile we went off to Chatuchak by train. It's a hot & humid day. I had my cap on, sun block on, make up on, face spray in my bag, water bottle & map on my hand… trying hard to stay fair.
I'm amaze by the whole place. Chatuchak is like massive market that is maybe like 30x of our local market. There are different sections selling different things. The sections include clothes, accessories, pet, kitchenware, food…
I fall in love with the clothes there. It's unique. Stuffs you thought Platinum will have don't. So it is really satisfying after going through all the trouble to get there, squeeze yourself through the crowd and ended up all hot & sweaty. I've brought 4 pieces of clothes from there. They have the latest floral print that is all big in Mina & Non-no. And its stuffs you don't see in Bugis, Far East and even online shops.
Brought a few things.
After dropping our stuffs at the hotel, we head down to Platinum, which is kind of nearby to our hotel. A good 15mins walk away. On the way to there, we passed by lots of “lu bia tang”. Honestly the package is not there. The stuffs look dirty, old and ugly.
